Hollow Fiber Membrane Antibacterial Protection Filter
Rx Only | Non-sterile | Single-use / disposable point-of-use water microfilter

Read Instructions for Use prior to use of this device to ensure safe and effective operation.

Device Description

The PurGuard360 is a disposable, single-use, non-sterile, point-of-use water microfiltration device intended for use with a handheld showerhead assembly or installation at the outlet of standard plumbing fixtures to retain bacteria.

Indications for Use: The PurGuard360 is intended to be used to filter EPA quality drinking water. By retaining bacteria, the filter may aid in infection control. The filter produces water that is suitable for washing and drinking, superficial wound cleansing, including minor cuts, scrapes, or abrasions, cleaning of equipment used in medical procedures, and washing of surgeon’s hands.

Contraindications

Sterile Water: The PurGuard360 is not intended to provide sterile water and is not a substitute for USP grade sterile water.

Warnings and Precautions

Pressure & Temperature: Do not use the device outside the pressure or temperature specifications listed in this IFU.

Water Quality: Do not use the device with non-potable, chemically aggressive, or contaminated water.

Replacement: The filter should be replaced when the flow rate begins to noticeably decrease, when device integrity is compromised, or when the labeled service life has been reached.

Water Monitoring: After installation of the filter, periodic monitoring of the water is recommended.

Reuse Precaution Statement: The filter is intended for single use. Once installed, the filter is intended to be used for up to 150 days or 7,000 liters, whichever occurs first. After such time, the unit should be replaced and discarded. Do not attempt to clean or sterilize it.

Cleaning & Chemical Exposure: Clean filter housing only using solutions as per the specifications in this IFU.

Leakage: Do not use the device if dripping or leakage is observed. Turn off the water supply and check that the device is correctly installed. If dripping or leakage persists, remove and replace device.

Operation

After installation, the filter may be used under normal facility water pressure within specified operating range. Operate device only within specifications listed in this IFU. Flow reduction may occur over time as membrane retains particulate and microorganisms.

Installation

Installation should be performed by trained facility personnel or personnel familiar with plumbing connections and infection-control procedures. Confirm that the water supply is EPA-quality potable drinking water and that intended use conditions are within the specifications listed in this IFU.  Inspect the package before opening. Do not use if the package is damaged, opened, or contaminated. Do not use if device is cracked, damaged, contaminated, or missing components. Install the QF10 in the correct flow direction using compatible ½-inch threaded plumbing connections. Hand-tighten connections. Do not overtighten. Excessive tightening may damage threads, seals, or housing components. Turn on water slowly and check all connections for leaks before placing the device into service. Record the installation date and replacement due date according to facility procedure.

Storage and Handling

Store the device in its original package until use.

Store in a clean, dry location.

Protect from excessive heat, freezing, moisture, dust, and physical damage.

Do not use after the expiration date.

Do not use if the package is damaged or opened before installation.
